Most shower curtains on the market these days have some anti-mildew agents in them. This one never claims to, which is wise-- because you'll find that although it looks lovely in the bath, it requires a good washing at least every two weeks if you take a daily shower. I was very pleased with the appearance of this shower curtain and it has held up over time, but I do have to wash and bleach it regularly to keep the mildew smell and stains from creeping around the edges.
